The group initially traveled along the Mormon Trail, observing and documenting their experiences, which were crucial for future migrants.

Upon arrival at the Great Salt Lake in July 1847, the Mormons found a suitable environment for settlement. They began to cultivate the land, construct homes, and establish a community, which would later evolve into Salt Lake City. This migration ultimately laid the foundation for what would be the center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a significant settlement in the American West.
