To find the area of a trapezium, we use the formula:
ext{Area} = rac{1}{2} imes (a + b) imes h
where:
- a and b are the lengths of the two parallel sides,
- h is the height.
In this case:
- a=12.3extcm (top side),
- b=8.7extcm (bottom side),
- h=6.8extcm.
Substituting these values into the formula gives:
ext{Area} = rac{1}{2} imes (12.3 + 8.7) imes 6.8
Calculating:
ext{Area} = rac{1}{2} imes 21 imes 6.8 = 10.5 imes 6.8 = 71.4 ext{ cm}^2
Thus, the area of the trapezium is 71.4 cm².
