Answer
Organisation and Location of DNA
Prokaryotic Cells
Prokaryotes have circular chromosomes and plasmids.
DNA is found in the cytoplasm since prokaryotes do not have a defined nucleus.
Eukaryotic Cells
Eukaryotes have linear chromosomes.
The linear chromosomes are located within the nucleus, separated from the cytoplasm.
In eukaryotic cells, linear chromosomes/DNA are coiled and wrapped around proteins called histones, forming a complex known as chromatin.
Eukaryotic cells can also possess circular DNA in their mitochondria or chloroplasts.
Yeast, an example of a eukaryote, can have plasmids as well.
