Step 2: Calculate the horizontal and vertical components:

  • Horizontal component: vx=20cos30=20×3217.32m/sv_x = 20 \cos 30^\circ = 20 \times \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \approx 17.32 \, \text{m/s}

  • Vertical component: vy=20sin30=20×12=10m/sv_y = 20 \sin 30^\circ = 20 \times \frac{1}{2} = 10 \, \text{m/s} Answer:

  • The horizontal component of the velocity is 17.32 m/s.

  • The vertical component of the velocity is 10 m/s.
