Where is occurs?	Happens in SOMATIC CELLS (whole body apart from ovaries/testes)	Happens in SEX ORGANS (anther• plant, ovaries and testes)

Similarities	• Require DNA to replicate/ more copies • Increase in number of cells • Spindle fibres occur • Both divide by same mechanism/process: Chromosomes line up along equator & spindles pull them apart to poles of cell
