• Cultural Genocide Claims: The Free Tibet Movement alleges the systematic eradication of Tibetan culture by China, including the demolition of monasteries, banning of the Tibetan flag and replacing Tibetan symbols with Chinese ones.

• Forced Education System: The UN expressed concern about approximately one million Tibetan children being compelled into a residential school system. The education in Mandarin and focus on Han Chinese contexts, while separating them from their families and Tibetan culture, raised alarm.
