  • At the start of the poem, she pretends that she is not happy with her love, because he is not handsome.

• Ach i ndáiríre, is cuma léi nach bhfuil a leannán tarraingteach.
  • But in all seriousness, she does not care that her love is not attractive.

  • He is an understanding person and he takes care of her. The poet understands that those are the most important things in any relationship.

  • This poem is not traditionally romantic but the poet is not pretending either.
• Tá sí ionraic agus macanta.
  • She is sincere and honest.
• Is léir go bhfuil sí féin agus a leannán compóirdeach lena chéile agus brodúíl as a gcaidrimh.
  • It is clear that herself and her love are comfortable with one another and proud of their relationship.
