Answer

The correct answer is D leaf palisade cell. Leaf palisade cells are specialized cells in the leaf where photosynthesis primarily occurs. They contain chloroplasts and are usually located near the upper surface of the leaf.

Answer

Water moves from cell to cell in a leaf through a process called osmosis. Water is absorbed by root cells from the soil and travels through xylem vessels. As water moves into the leaf cells, it creates a higher concentration of solute in the surrounding cells compared to the interior of the cell. This allows water to move through semi-permeable membranes from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration until equilibrium is reached. Additionally, water can move through intercellular spaces, as well as through plasmodesmata, which are microscopic channels that connect the cytoplasm of adjacent plant cells.
