Answer
The type of muscle found in the heart is called cardiac muscle. This specialized muscle tissue is responsible for the contractions of the heart that pump blood throughout the body.

Answer
The coronary artery provides the heart muscle with oxygen. This artery branches off from the aorta and supplies blood to the heart muscle itself.

Answer
To draw a dissected heart, ensure the diagram includes the following structures:
Aorta: The large artery that carries oxygenated blood away from the heart.
Bicuspid valve: Also known as the mitral valve, this valve controls blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle.
Left ventricle: This chamber of the heart pumps oxygenated blood into the aorta.

Answer
Before beginning the dissection, it is crucial to wash the heart thoroughly to remove any contaminants. This helps ensure a safe working environment and reduces the risk of exposure to harmful bacteria.

Answer
To carry out the dissection, I placed the heart on a dissection tray and secured it in position. I carefully identified the front and back of the heart to orient the dissection accurately. Using a scalpel, I made an incision along the left ventricle and opened the heart to expose the internal structures. Each part was examined and labeled accordingly, ensuring proper attention was paid to the aorta and bicuspid valve. After the dissection, all materials were disposed of correctly.
