A breach happens when one party in the contract fails to fulfill their contractual obligations. This can lead to the other party taking legal action for damages. For instance, if a professional footballer does not attend training sessions as required, the club can consider this a breach of contract.

Both parties may mutually agree to end the contract regardless of the purpose. For instance, an employee might be hired for a 9-month contract but completes the project in 6 months. In such cases, both the employer and the employee can agree to terminate the contract. Furthermore, contracts of employment can include a clause stating that either party can terminate the agreement with notice, typically one month.
