To insulate the roof at ceiling joist level, the insulation roll is cut to fit between the ceiling joists. The insulation is unrolled tightly and packed between the ceiling joists above the plasterboard. Additionally, layers of insulation are positioned above the bottom layer in a cross formation.

Blow In Cellulose
Spray-foam insulation
Hemp insulation
Thickness of Insulation:
A minimum thickness of 300 mm of insulation is recommended.

For the water tank, attic insulation is installed around the sides and the top of the water tank. This helps to retain heat and prevent freezing during cold weather.
For the pipework, polyethylene foam tubes are placed around all pipework in the attic. Duct tape is used to join two foam tubes together where they meet. Reflective pipe lagging insulation can also be used to surround all pipework.
