The inventor, James Dyson, has developed this innovative design of a room heater - Leaving Cert Engineering - Question 1 - 2013

The thermostatic control device is designed to maintain a constant temperature within the room. It works by measuring the current temperature and determining whether additional heat is required to maintain the set temperature.

When the temperature falls below the desired level, the thermostatic control activates the heating element to generate more heat. Conversely, if the room reaches or exceeds the target temperature, the device stops adding heat. This functionality ensures energy efficiency, as heating occurs only when necessary, conserving energy and providing a comfortable environment.
