Conduction is one method of heat transfer - Leaving Cert Physics - Question d - 2017

The two other methods of heat transfer are convection and radiation.

1. Convection: This method involves the transfer of heat by the physical movement of a fluid (liquid or gas). As the fluid is heated, it becomes less dense and rises, allowing cooler fluid to take its place, creating a convection current.

2. Radiation: This method involves the transfer of heat in the form of electromagnetic waves. Unlike conduction and convection, radiation does not require a medium and can occur in a vacuum, such as the heat from the sun reaching the Earth.
