Abigail Williams is the primary antagonist in The Crucible and one of the play's most complex and manipulative characters. At 17 years old, Abigail is the niece of Reverend Parris and a former servant in the Proctor household. She is portrayed as cunning, vengeful, and willing to go to any lengths to achieve her goals. Abigail's actions catalyse the Salem witch trials, and her manipulations and deceit drive much of the plot's conflict.
