Bhí fógra ar an mballa i gColáiste Phádraig. There was a notice on the wall in Patrick's College.
Gan dabht, chuir an Grúpa Traidisiúnta an póstaer ann. Without a doubt, the Traditional (Trad) Group put the poster there.
Bhí cleachtadh ar siúl ag am lóin agus tar éis scoile gach Luan agus Céadaoin. The practice was on at lunch time and after school every Monday and Thursday.
Bhí suim ag a lán daltaí sa cheol tradisiúnta agus bhí siad ag ullmhú don fhleá ceoil. A lot of students had interest in traditional music and they were preparing for the Fleadh Ceol.

I bpictiúr a dó, bhailigh na scolairí don cleachtadh ceoil. In the second picture, the students gathered for music practice.
Mise á rá leat, bhí bua an cheoil acu! I'm telling you, they had the gift of music!
Sheinn Deirdre agus Seán an fhidil, bhí Aoife ar an bhfeadóg stáin agus Máirtín ar an bhfeadóg mhór. Deirdre and Seán played the fiddle, Aoife was on the tin whistle and Máirtín was in the flute.

Bhí an cailín traochta spíonta ag deireadh na hoíche! The girl was exhausted by the end of the night!

I bpictiúr a ceathair, ghlac an grúpa traidisiúnta páirt i bhFleá an Chontae. In the fourth picture, the trad group took part in the County Fleadh.
Dúirt an moltóir go raibh ceithre ghrúpa sa chomórtas, agus go raibh siad go léir ar fheabhas. The judge said that there were four groups in the competition and they were all brilliant.
Bhí crith cos agus lamh acu roimh an taispeantas. Their hands and legs were shaking before the show.
Bhuaigh Coláiste Phádraig! Patrick's College won!
Dáiríre píre, bhí gliondar croí orthu! Really and truly, they were delighted!
Ansin, d'éirigh leo i bhFleadh an Chúige. Then, they won in the Provincial Fleadh.
Ba bheag nár thit siad i laige nuair a chuala siad an dea-scéal! They almost fainted when they heard the good news!

Bhí Fleá Cheoil na hÉireann ar siúl i Leitir Ceanainn. The National Fleadh Ceol was on in Letterkenny.
Bhí an saol is a mháthair ann. The whole world was there.
Ba léir go raibh atmaisféar den chéad scoth ann. It's clear that there was an amazing atmosphere there.
Bhí na sráideanna plódaithe, agus bhí gach duine ag caint is ag comhrá. The streets were packed, and everyone was singing and dancing.
Ní raibh cíos, cás ná cathú ar éinne! No one had a care in the world!
Sheinn an grúpa ag ceolchoirm na mbuaiteoirí an oíche sin ag a hocht a chlog. The music group played at the winners' concert that night at eight o clock.

Cuireadh tús leis an seisiún ceoil ar a hocht a chlog. The music session started at eight o clock.
Bhí an príomhoide an-bhródúil as na daltaí. Mhol sé na daltaí go hard na spéire. The principal was very proud of the students. He praised the students to the high heavens.
Bhí na daltaí ar mhuin na muice! The students were on the pig's back (delighted)!
Ní dhéanfaidís dearmad ar an lá sin go deo! They would never forget that day!
Imíonn an tuirse ach fanann an tairbhe, mar a deirtear! The tiredness leaves but the profit remains, as they say!
