Profit/Loss/Discount

$$Profit = Selling \space Price - Cost \space Price$$ $$Profit \space \% = \frac{Profit}{Cost \space Price} \cdot 100$$

Example

A salesman sells books for €70. If it costs him €50 to produce one book, find the profit for one book and find the profit percentage.

Profit :

$$70-50=€20$$

Profit Percentage :

$$\frac{20}{50} \cdot 100=40 \%$$

$$Loss = Cost \space Price-Selling \space Price$$ $$Loss \space \% = \frac{Loss}{Cost \space Price} \cdot 100$$

Example

Loss :

$$50-40=€10$$

Loss Percentage :

$$\frac{10}{50} \cdot 100=20 \%$$

$$Discount= Marked\space Price-Selling \space Price$$ $$Discount\space \% = \frac{Discount}{Marked\space Price} \cdot 100$$

Discount :

$$100-80=€20$$

Discount Percentage :
