What do vectors have in terms of quantities?

They have both magnitude (size) and direction.

How are 2D vectors typically written in component form?

a=(a1a2)\mathbf{a} = \begin{pmatrix} a_1 \\ a_2 \end{pmatrix}

What is the formula for the magnitude of a vector?

∣a∣=a12+a22|\mathbf{a}| = \sqrt{a_1^2 + a_2^2}

How can vectors be added or subtracted?

Add/subtract component-wise: a+b\mathbf{a} + \mathbf{b}

What changes when multiplying a vector by a scalar?

Its magnitude changes, but the direction remains the same.

What does a position vector indicate?

It shows how to get from the origin to a point.

How do you find the displacement vector from AA to BB?

Use AB→=B−A\overrightarrow{AB} = B - A.

What defines a unit vector?

A vector with a magnitude of 11 unit.

How is a unit vector parallel to (73)\begin{pmatrix} 7 \\ 3 \end{pmatrix} found?

Shorten it by dividing by its magnitude 58\sqrt{58}.

What does (xy)\left(\begin{array}{c} x \\ y \end{array}\right) denote?

It represents a 2D vector with components xx and yy.
