Overview of Paper 3 reading
Paper 3 focuses on two key skills: reading comprehension and translation. This paper tests your ability to understand German texts and translate from German into English. Understanding the structure and knowing effective strategies will help you maximise your marks.

Section A: Reading comprehension
What to expect
Section A presents you with German texts on various topics such as festivals, holidays, and cultural events. You'll need to demonstrate your understanding through different question types including:

The questions follow the order of the text, which means the answer to the first question appears early in the passage, whilst later questions relate to information found towards the end.
