Separate different parts of a sentence
When info is removable without changing core meaning
When removing it would change the sentence's meaning
Bridge between closely related sentences that could stand alone
Only at end of direct questions, not indirect
Use sparingly; never use multiple together
When in doubt, leave the apostrophe out
Add apostrophe + s after noun (e.g., boy's book)
It's = It is; Its = possessive (like my, your, his)

No 'a' in definite - relates to finite
