Identity & Self-Discovery
- At its heart, the film is about figuring out who you are.
- Miles struggles with being new at school, not feeling "good enough," and not knowing how to be Spider-Man.
- Each Spider-person has their own version of the role — Miles learns to make it his own. "When do I know I'm Spider-Man?" — "You won't. It's a leap of faith."
Responsibility
- Every Spider-hero has experienced loss, which drives them to protect others.
- Miles must learn that with great power comes great responsibility — even if it's scary or painful.
- Uncle Aaron's death is a turning point that helps Miles understand the cost of being a hero.
Family & Relationships
- The film explores both biological and chosen family:
- Miles and his parents
- His bond with Uncle Aaron
- His found family in the Spider-team
- These relationships shape Miles's identity and give him strength.
- Shows that heroes don't work alone — they need connection and support.
Belonging & Inclusivity
- Miles feels like he doesn't fit in at school or as Spider-Man at first.
- Meeting other Spider-people helps him realise he's not alone — others feel the same way.
- "Anyone can wear the mask" is a powerful message of representation and empowerment.
Courage & Growth
- Miles's journey is all about facing fear and taking risks.
- His "leap of faith" moment shows how he chooses to act bravely even when unsure.
- He grows from a nervous teen into a confident, capable hero.
- Real bravery isn't being fearless — it's acting in spite of fear.
