Characteristics
- All fungi are eukaryotic.
- Fungi usually reproduce asexually but can also reproduce sexually.
- They reproduce by means of spores.
- All fungi are heterotrophic and do not contain chlorophyll. This means there are no autotrophic fungi.
- Fungi have cell walls made of chitin, a structural carbohydrate.
- Fungi contain mycelium (lots of hyphae).
