Viruses contain:

• A protein coat called a capsid.
• A single strand of DNA or RNA (not both).

Shape

1. Round e.g. flu
2. Rod shaped e.g. tobacco mosaic virus
3. Complex e.g. bacteriophage (a virus that affects bacteria)
