Grouping

Grouping involves arranging and grouping terms in a way that reveals common factors, which can then be factored out.

Let's consider the expression :

We can group the $c$ terms together.

Factorise using HCF :

We are now left with two terms, both of these terms share a common factor : $(3a-2b)$

As an exercise, expand these brackets out to see if we resolve the original expression.
