Distance formula between two points

(x2−x1)2+(y2−y1)2\sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}

Gradient formula using two points

m=y2−y1x2−x1m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} (rise over run)

Midpoint formula between two points

M=(x1+x22;y1+y22)M = \left(\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2}; \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2}\right)

Condition for collinear points

mAB=mAM=mMBm_{AB} = m_{AM} = m_{MB} (all gradients equal)

Gradient-intercept form of line equation

y=mx+cy = mx + c

Condition for parallel lines

m1=m2m_1 = m_2 (same gradients)

Product of gradients for perpendicular lines

m1×m2=−1m_1 \times m_2 = -1

Equation of horizontal line

y=ky = k (gradient = 0)

Circle equation with centre at origin

x2+y2=r2x^2 + y^2 = r^2

General circle equation with centre (a;b)(a; b)

(x−a)2+(y−b)2=r2(x - a)^2 + (y - b)^2 = r^2
