What is it asking?
- The key skill is commenting on the effects of language
- Be sure to read the question properly to help you pick relevant quotations and provide relevant analysis

Structure
- No introductions
- You only need 2 paragraphs - each exploring 2 different ways language is used to serve a certain effect
- make sure to consistently make links to the question to ensure that you are not waffling!
Paragraph structure:

- work backwards - think about the meaning the writer creates through their use of language
- DO NOT:
- write about structure as there is a danger that you won't answer the question
- write more than the 2 pages given
- forget to talk about the effect of language techniques
