The experiences of Germans under the Nazis (AQA GCSE History): Model Answers
Describe two problems faced by the German people during the Second World War. [4 marks]
During World War II, the German people endured bombings from the Allied forces, including the USA and Britain. The impact of the bombings was devastating, causing thousands of deaths and leaving over 7 million people homeless. Another major issue was rationing, which had been introduced before the war in 1939. By 1943, rations were reduced further, and by 1945, the system had collapsed, forcing people to rely on the expensive Black Market for necessities.
