The War of The Worlds: Plot Summary

In The War of the Worlds, Martians invade Earth, landing in England in large metal cylinders. They use powerful weapons, like heat rays and poisonous gas, to destroy everything in their path. The story is told by a man who watches as the Martians take over, causing panic and chaos everywhere. The human army tries to fight back, but the Martians' technology is too strong. As the man struggles to survive, society begins to fall apart. In the end, the Martians are not defeated by humans, but by Earth's bacteria, which they can't handle. The novel shows how easily humans can lose control and how dangerous new technology can be.
