Guidelines for Buying and Storing
Buying Cheese
- Choose a Clean Store: Always buy cheese from a hygienic shop.
- Check Use-by Dates: Look for the freshest cheese by checking dates; fresher products are often behind older ones on the shelf.
- Buy in Small Amounts: Purchase in amounts you'll use soon to avoid waste.
- Check Packaging: Make sure the cheese packaging is sealed properly to keep it fresh.
- Shop Towards the End: Buy cheese at the end of your shopping trip to keep it cool.
Storing Cheese
- Temperature: Store cheese at 4°C to prevent it from going off quickly.
- Keep Wrapped: If the package is opened, wrap the cheese in wax paper or put it in a sealed container. This stops it from drying out and becoming hard.
- Use in Time: Pay attention to use-by dates to avoid waste.
