Seams
Seams join pieces of fabric to create clothing and textile items.
- Flat seam: The most common, neat, and strong seam used in everyday sewing.
Seam Finishes
- Overlocking
- Uses a special machine to trim and neaten fabric edges.
- Strong finish, ideal for most fabrics and prevents fraying.
- Pinking Shears
- Serrated scissors trim fabric edges quickly.
- Best for closely woven fabrics.
- Zig-Zag Stitch
- Machine stitch along raw edges.
- Suitable for most fabrics.
- Edge Machining
- Fold edge under, press, and sew.
- Best for heavy fabrics to prevent bulky seams.
