Drying wood in controlled environment (heat, air, humidity)

Amount of water in wood, important for strength and use

Slowly heats wood evenly without drying it yet

40°C to 70°C

6-10% depending on wood's use

Distributes moisture evenly, prevents problems

Heats the wood quickly

Spread air evenly to dry wood uniformly

Soften fibres to prevent drying issues

Let out wet air and bring in dry air

1-3 weeks

High energy use and running costs

Dry large batches with controlled conditions for even results

Wood moves through different zones for ongoing operation
