Parts of a whole

Divide top and bottom by same number

The top number in a fraction

The bottom number in a fraction

A whole number and a fraction part (e.g., $4\frac{2}{3}$)

Numerator is larger than denominator (e.g., $\frac{14}{3}$)

Turn whole into fraction with same denominator, then add

Divide numerator by denominator; remainder is top of fraction

Multiply numerators together, multiply denominators together

Turn second fraction upside down, then multiply

Same denominator

Multiply by numerator, divide by denominator
