Springtime in the West
A man cleaning clay
From the tread of a spade
In the gentle quiet
In the sultry heat of the day:
Sweet is the sound
In the Spring in the west.
A man wearing
A basket on his back
And the red seaweed glistening
In the shining sun
On a white sandy beach:
Beautiful is the scene
In the Spring in the west.
Women in little pools
In the low ebb tide
Their coats hoisted up,
Shadows cast beneath them:
A still and magical scene

Hollow and faints strikes
By the oars
A currach full of fish
