Informational social influence (ISI)
When someone conforms because they want to be correct, so they look to others for guidance
★ Tends to lead to internalisation
Occurs in ambiguous/unfamiliar situations where there is no clear correct answer
Normative social influence (NSI)
When someone conforms because they want to be liked and accepted by a group
★ Tends to lead to compliance
