What is sample rate?

How many times per second we measure the sound wave

Unit sample rate is measured in

Hertz (Hz) - samples per second

What is sample resolution (bit depth)?

Number of bits used to store each sample

Amplitude (loudness) of the sound wave

What is duration in sound recording?

How long the recording lasts in seconds

File size formula (in bits)

Sample rate × Resolution × Duration

How do stereo files compare to mono?

Stereo is double the size (2 channels vs 1)

Convert bits to bytes

Divide by 8

Convert bytes to megabytes

Divide by 1,000,000

Higher quality settings result in
