What is domain?

All possible xx-values (input values) for a function

What is range?

All possible yy-values or f(x)f(x) values a function can produce

How does range relate to domain?

Range depends directly on domain

What is an unrestricted domain?

Function works for any real number

What do ≥\geq and ≤\leq symbols mean?

Include the endpoint

What do >> and << symbols mean?

Exclude the endpoint

How does a linear function with negative slope behave?

Decreases as xx increases

Range of f(x)=x2f(x) = x^2 (unrestricted domain)

f(x)≥0f(x) \geq 0

Result of squaring any real number

Positive result or zero

How to read domain from a graph?

Leftmost to rightmost point on xx-axis

How to read range from a graph?

Lowest to highest point on yy-axis

What do open circles on graphs indicate?

Points not included

What do closed circles on graphs indicate?

Points included

What do arrows on graphs indicate?

Graph continues indefinitely

How to find range for linear functions?

Evaluate at domain boundary points
