Show

Area measurement units

Square units (cm², m²)

Rectangle area formula

A=l×wA = l \times w

Parallelogram area formula

A=b×hA = b \times h

Triangle area formula

A=12bhA = \frac{1}{2}bh

Trapezium area formula

A=12(a+b)×hA = \frac{1}{2}(a + b) \times h

Vertical height definition

Perpendicular distance between parallel sides

Parallelogram definition

Four-sided shape with opposite sides parallel

Trapezium definition

Shape with one pair of parallel sides

If lengths in cm, area units are

cm²

Common error: parallelogram height

Using slanted side instead of vertical height

Why triangle area = half base × height?

Two triangles form parallelogram with same base & height

First step in area calculation
