5.6.3 Measuring Speed
Speed Variability
infoNote
The speed of a moving object is rarely constant. When people walk, run, or travel in a car, their speed is constantly changing.
Typical Speeds
- Wind: 5 – 7
- Sound: 330
- Walking: ~ 1.5
- Running: ~ 3
- Cycling: ~ 6
- Bus: 14 km/h
- Train: 125 miles/h
- Plane: 900 km/h
Distance and Time Measurement
