At first glance, Na Deoraithe might seem like just a normal family scene — chatting in the kitchen, shopping lists, and teenage attitude. But scratch the surface and you'll find huge, emotional themes hiding underneath. From immigration and conflict to identity and family, this play packs a punch in a short time.
1. Imirce agus Teitheadh ó Fhoréigean ✈️🚪💣
The main theme is teitheadh (escape) from danger. The de Burca family have moved from Ukraine to Galway to get away from war and violence. They left everything behind — their friends, language, home — to start again somewhere safe. This is the reality for millions of families across the world.
