What is the radial elements method?

Technique to find intersection between solids (cones/pyramids)

When to use radial elements method

When cones or pyramids are penetrated by other solids

What is a radial element?

Straight line from apex through both intersecting solids

What is an apex?

Pointed tip of cone or pyramid

What is the line of intersection?

Curve/line where two solid surfaces meet

First step in radial elements method

Set up orthographic views (front, end elevation, plan)

Where do radial elements originate?

From the apex of the cone or pyramid

How to find intersection points

Mark where radial elements cross both solid surfaces

Type of final intersection line

Smooth curve connecting all located points

When radial method vs limits method

Use radial when limits method fails for curved/pointed solids
