Context	● The delta = a depositional landform formed from sediment brought down the Nile by annual floods
Why the Aswan High Dam caused issues	● Water withdrawals for industry, cities and farming from the reservoir behind the Aswan High Dam ● Sediment being trapped by the reservoir and dam; water in the dam flows very slowly allowing sediment to be deposited
Impacts of the Aswan High Dam	● River discharge ↓ from 35 billion m^3 per year to 10 billion m^3 ● Sediment volume fell from 130 million tonnes to about 15 million tonnes ● Erosion rates at the Rosetta (where one of the main delta branches of the river meets the sea) increased from 20m to over 200m per year
