One of the possible results of a trial

The set of all possible outcomes in a trial

When one or more specific outcomes happen

Measure of how likely an event is to happen

All outcomes have the same chance of happening

$P = \frac{\text{favourable}}{\text{total}}$

When all outcomes are equally likely

Number of outcomes that lead to the event you want

Outcomes are still equally likely (equal size = equal chance)
