Counting numbers starting from 0 (0, 1, 2, 3, ...)

Whole numbers: positive, negative, or zero, no fractional part

Numbers expressible as fractions (ratio of two integers)

The integer on top of the fraction

Cannot be zero; causes undefined result/divide by zero error

Cannot be expressed as ratio; decimal continues forever

$\pi$ (pi), approximately $\frac{22}{7}$ or 3.14159...

Any positive/negative value including fractional part

Integers, rational numbers, and irrational numbers

Ordinal = position in list; Cardinal = size of list
