Equation where variables are raised to first power only

Use inverse operations to isolate the variable

Multiply all terms by LCM of denominators

Find values satisfying all equations simultaneously

Isolate one variable, substitute into other equation

Combine equations to eliminate one variable

When coefficients have opposite signs

Check they satisfy all original equations
