Figure made from two or more basic plane shapes joined together

$A = s^2$ where $s$ is the side length

$A = \frac{1}{2}bh$ where $b$ is base, $h$ is height

$A = \frac{1}{2}\pi r^2$ where $r$ is the radius

$a^2 + b^2 = c^2$ where $c$ is the hypotenuse

When shapes are joined side by side

When one shape is cut out or removed from another

Squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, semicircles

Radius is half of the diameter

Must be perpendicular to each other
