Transformation that flips graph across mirror line

$(x, y) \to (x, -y)$

y-coordinate changes sign; x stays same

$y = f(x)$ becomes $y = -f(x)$

Vertical flip (upside down)

$(x, y) \to (-x, y)$

x-coordinate changes sign; y stays same

$y = f(x)$ becomes $y = f(-x)$

Horizontal flip (left to right)

Reflect in X-axis, change Y; Reflect in Y-axis, change X
