Fractions (OCR GCSE Maths): Flashcards

Top part of fraction, shows how many parts you have

Bottom part, shows how many parts whole is divided into

Divide by denominator, multiply by numerator

Multiply/divide top and bottom by same number

Numerator smaller than denominator

Numerator equal to or greater than denominator

Whole number combined with a proper fraction

Divide top by bottom; quotient=whole, remainder=new numerator

Multiply whole by denominator, add numerator, over denominator

Find common denominator (use LCM)

Multiply numerators together, multiply denominators together

Flip second fraction, then multiply

Multiply by $100$

Divide by $100$

Convert to decimal, then multiply by $100$
