What is the formula for the geometric mean?

Geometric mean = (x1 × x2 × ... × xn)^(1/n)

What is the formula for the geometric mean of n values?

GM = (x1 * x2 * ... * xn)^(1/n)

Convert 4% increase to a multiplier.

Multiplier = 1.04 for a 4% increase.

Convert 5% decrease to a multiplier.

Multiplier = 0.95 for a 5% decrease.

Calculate GM of 1.04 and 0.95.

GM = √{1.04 × 0.95} = 0.994

When to use geometric mean?

Use for growth rates and percentage changes.

Is geometric mean always ≤ arithmetic mean?

Yes, for the same set of positive numbers.

What is the formula for geometric mean?

GM = √[n]{x₁ × x₂ × ... × xₙ}

What root to take for 4 values in GM?

Take the 4th root for 4 values.

Common mistake with geometric mean?

Confusing it with arithmetic mean.
