Factorise, set factors to 0, solve linear equations

Factorise the left-hand side

Set each factor equal to zero

Solve the linear equations

At least one bracket must equal zero

$(x + a)(x - a)$

Factor out $x$: $x(x - 10) = 0$

Substitute back, should equal zero

$x = \text{[number]}$
