Definition of a sector

Portion of circle formed by 2 radii, like a pie slice

Major sector

Larger portion of the circle

Minor sector

Smaller portion of the circle

Area of sector (angle xx, radius rr)

x360°×πr2\frac{x}{360°} \times \pi r^2

Arc length (angle xx, radius rr)

x360°×2πr\frac{x}{360°} \times 2\pi r

Perimeter of a sector

Arc length + 2r2r

Fraction of circle that sector represents

x360°\frac{x}{360°} (where xx = angle at centre)

Angle from area formula

x=Area×360°πr2x = \frac{\text{Area} \times 360°}{\pi r^2}

Angle from arc length formula

x=Arc length×360°2πrx = \frac{\text{Arc length} \times 360°}{2\pi r}

Full circle area (radius rr)

πr2\pi r^2
